In “Combined systems” we have PV modules, solar charger, a battery bank, like an off-grid system. But, these systems are also connected to the grid. Any excess power produced from solar is sold to the grid. This can be achieved with a so called “grid tie- off grid” inverter as eg

NOTE:

Another possibility to achieve that you have electricity in case of a power cut is to create a so called “mini grid”. A grid-tie system sells the solar power to the grid. In case of a power-cut the solar power charges a battery bank and an off-grid inverter supplies energy to the house.
